It's the height of the selling season in Tucson!!  Dick has added his photography to my booth and we've had our first show, The Food, Wine and Fine Art Fest.  It was the hottest day of October--ever!!

This coming weekend is the Big Brothers Big Sisters Fair at Plaza Palomino.  Hope to see you there.

JANUARY 4, 2009

We got one thing on our list accomplished today:  A NEW FISH PAGE.  Dick removed all of the "deceased" fish (the ones that got broke in a wind that came through a show) and put new ones up!!!  I hated seeing all my fish that had "passed on" still on the site, it was time to put them to rest! 

Another cool thing happened--I just received my new issue of "The Flow" magazine (a mag for torch workers) and two of my beads are in the winter woman's issue!!  It's so cool to see my first published pictures of my work in a magazine!

JANUARY 3,2009

The new year is upon us and I'm excited as hell for 2009!  The year ended up being a good one considering the economy.  Big Brothers, Big Sisters show in November was a hit, unfortunately my tent legs bent in half--that crazy wind was going strong and I had to shut down several hours early.  My friend Betty and I took our products down to Tubac for their annual Holiday Market, we'll see how well that one does. Dick and I had our annual "House Party" in December with my friend Betty showing her pottery.  We had plenty of people and sales were steady--THANK YOU ALL FOR SUPPORTING ME AT ALL OF MY SHOWS, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

In December I was able to attend Bronwen Heilman's class at Sonoran Glass Art Academy.  I am sure that when I have all the supplies I need that I will be emailing Bronwen with a few questions!  What an experience to watch and learn her techniques in enamel painting on beads!!

Dick and I are in the process of updating my website since I have many new items I've created!!  Stay tuned and hopefully we will get it done before the end of the year, that's means 2009.

Lots has been happening lately, it's that show time of year. Last Friday was Sonoran Glass Art Academy's "Annual Art Auction".  The new location was at Hacienda del Sol and made for a beautiful setting.  I donated a necklace this year and it made it on the front of the post card that SGAA sent out!!  I was very flattered!

Oct. 18 & 19th GOVAC (Greater Oro Valley Arts Council) had "Art Fest" at La Encantada at Sunrise and Campbell. It was a beautiful weekend and a great place for booths to set up.  GOVAC covers all advertising angles and does tons of emails and it shows in how many people attend their events--Thank you GOVAC!!

This week I received an order of glass!!!!  Effetre has 4 new colors, CiM has about 20 new colors and of course there's always some new Vetrofond odd lots that interest me!  It will take me a few days to get it all priced, but feel free to come over and see if there's anything you just can't live without!!

Tubac Arts Council is having their annual Holiday Market from Nov. 22 thru Dec. 27th and I was asked to participate, so I have been busy getting more pendants and fish ready.  Big Brothers and Big Sisters is coming up also, Nov. 7-9--mark your calendar to keep it all straight!
